PrivacyNote

Uma Descendant is a small, unofficial fan project. You can browse the races without an account. If you sign up, we keep only what is needed to send you one email a week about the characters you follow. We do not sell your data, show ads or use analytics or tracking tools.

What we keep when you have an account

Your email address

Needed to create your account, log you in and send you the weekly email.

Your password

Stored by our login provider in hashed form. We cannot read it, and we never see it in plain text after you submit it.

The characters you follow

So we know whose descendants to put in your email.

Your email on/off choice

So we respect it when you unsubscribe.

Which weeks we emailed you

A record of the week of each email sent to you, so nobody is emailed twice for the same week.

We keep this until you ask us to delete it. Visitors without an account give us no personal data beyond what a web server normally sees.

Who else handles it

We use these services to run the site. Each only gets what it needs to do its job.

Supabase

Holds your account, follows and email preferences (database hosted in Singapore).

Resend

Sends our emails, including the sign-up confirmation and password reset. It sees your email address and the email's content.

Vercel

Hosts this website. Like most hosts, its server logs may record technical details of a visit, such as the IP address.

MongoDB Atlas

Stores the race data. It holds no personal data.

Cookies and local storage

• Login cookies keep you signed in. They are set when you log in and removed when you log out.
• A short-lived cookie (about 10 minutes) protects the password reset page after you use a reset link.
• Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Emails and unsubscribing

We only email you about characters you follow, plus the messages you ask for when you sign up or reset a password. Every weekly email has an unsubscribe link, and Gmail shows its own Unsubscribe button. You can also switch emails off, or unfollow characters, at any time on your subscriptions page.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you. Email cwnditthakit@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and we will deal with it.
